Lazer Impala MIPS Helmet

This helmet does not give me a big mushroom head feel which is perfect for those riders who have small heads and looking for a form-fitting helmet.

The Impala comes standard with MIPS to reduce rotational impacts and it is constructed of molded EPS foam. The foam is also partially coated on the underside with polycarbonate nylon to increase its durability.

The profile of the Impala is dropped lower to give a little more protection on the sides and back of the rider's head. It has an adjustable visor that can fit a goggle if that's your thing. On the inside you'll find their Advance Turnfit System (ATS) which offers 360 degrees of adjustability to get the fit dialed exactly right.

On the exterior, the Lazer Impala has 22 vents for lots of airflow.

As a mountain bike helmet, aerodynamics was not a big factor on these kinds of helmets. However, with 22 vents, air can freely flow inside to increase aerodynamic flow.

At 343 grams, the Impala is at the lighter side of most helmets in this bracket but that's not the cost of safety.

The helmet is available in several colors to suit rider's needs and comes with a carrying pouch and a GoPro mount.

This helmet is new from Lazer and it comes with MIPS and they're back with the normal plastic liner that we normally see.

Adjustable peak and it has a nice big ratchet at the back that is really easy to get hold of even with gloves. It is comfortable from the get go with no hotspots once fit is dialed in.

The 22 vents keeps the rider cool when riding through hot days on the saddle.

The helmet was light and comfortable.

At its price, it has good value for the features that you get such as microfiber bag, an action camera mount and lights. It is not the most sophisticated and you still need to use a velcro to attach but at least its there and it’s a good way to attach lights during the winter.

The Impala has the Advance Tuning System dialing system that lets you adjust the cradle of the helmet giving you a right fit. The visor can be adjusted 3 ways and the rear coverage of the helmet is fantastic.
